Summer Term – Week 6
This Week’s Topic: The World
This week, we learned about celebrating the world. We talked about different cultures, respect, and British values.
We were also excited to introduce the children to the importance of respecting all cultures and traditions from around the world.
In Art and Craft, the children decorated flags from their countries and created colourful handprints representing the world.

Group Time Highlights
During group time, we:
* Sang Frère Jacques in 5 languages: French, Italian, Spanish, English, and Arabic
* Counted from 0 to 10 in English, Italian, Spanish, French, and Arabic
* Introduced the letter C in phonics (for culture)
* Read the story “Baby Goes to Market”, a story about African culture
* Began practising new songs for the end-of-year show

Montessori Activity
This week’s Montessori activity was a World Game, where the children matched animals to their continents.

A Quick Look at Our Week
Monday
We sang Giro Giro Tondo and practised past lessons.
Tuesday
We made tortilla sauces:
* Guacamole by mixing avocado, garlic, tomatoes, and lemon
* A pink sauce by mixing mayonnaise and ketchup
Wednesday
At Forest School, the children collected leaves from the big garden and stuck them into their books.
Thursday
During Computer Science time, the children enjoyed a fabulous activity using a magic globe. By pointing the tablet at the globe, the children were able to discover information about animals, monuments, and traditional clothing from different countries.
At 1 o’clock, we had an amazing party with parents to celebrate International Culture Day. Parents cooked food from their countries, and we all enjoyed lunch together. After lunch, we explored traditional music from different countries, and everyone danced and had lots of fun.
Friday (Drama & Music)
As the weather reached 26 degrees, we did not have Drama and Music sessions. Instead, the children spent time in the garden enjoying water play activities.
