Summer Term – Week 11

Dear Parents,

This week’s topic was *Summer*

The children created colourful ice lollies using paper and sticks, and they also made beautiful flower art paintings.

Everyone took part in painting the stage backdrop for the show and decorating their show T-shirts — what a creative and productive week.

*Vocabulary Focus*

This week, we introduced the following words:

Summer, hot, heat, flowers, bees, nectar, ice cream, ice lollies, sun, and more!

*Group Time Highlights*

We read The Little Bees

Talked about summer and the changes it brings

Sang nursery rhymes

Practiced counting from 1 to 10

Explored shapes

Worked with groups of objects

Rehearsed a new ballet dance for the show

*Montessori Activity*

This week’s Montessori activity was the magnetic colour sorting board.

Children used magnetic pens to match the coloured balls to the correct ice cream.

They all completed the task with help and encouragement from their teachers — great job!

*A Quick Look at Our Week*

-Monday (Italian):

We began learning the song “Chiudi gli occhi” to teach the children about eyes and counting to three in Italian.

-Tuesday:

We made delicious protein bars using puffed rice, golden syrup, raisins, and colourful star sprinkles!

-Wednesday:

We planted lentils in small pots with cotton. Just add a bit of water each day, and you’ll see a magical result soon!

-Thursday (Computer Science):

No computer science this week — we had our stage rehearsal instead, getting ready for the big show!

-Friday (Drama & Music):

We continued to practice our songs and performance pieces for the upcoming show. Excitement is building!
