Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5

 Dear Parents,

Summer Term – Week 5

This Week’s Topic: Eid

This week, we learned about the celebration of Eid. The children enjoyed discovering the similarities between Christmas and Eid. Both celebrations focus on family, togetherness, love, and sharing special moments with one another.

We were also excited to introduce the children to the importance of respecting all cultures. For this reason, next week, on the occasion of International Culture Day, we will celebrate cultures from around the world.

In Art and Craft, the children decorated a moon, which is a symbol of Eid, and explored henna hand designs, an important part of Eid traditions.

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

Eid, Allah, God, celebration, respect, love, family, together, kindness, sharing, friendship, mosque, prayer, moon, tradition, culture, peace, happiness, caring, community

* Sang songs with different rhythms

* Counted backwards from 5 to 0 using our fingers in maths
