Newsletter Spring Term - Week 9

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Mother’s Day.

We talked with the children about mums and how to make them happy. The children made Mother’s Day cards and a rose for their mums.

Vocabulary Focus

This week we introduced and explored the following words:

Mother, hug, love, help, patient, strong, kind, etc.

###Group Time Highlights

During group time, we talked about the importance of helping mum at home and giving her a bit of rest sometimes.

• We sang the “Happy Mother’s Day” song.

• In Maths, the children worked on a number line, putting numbers in order.

• In Phonics, we introduced the letter M for mother.

• We read the story “5 Minutes’ Peace”, which explains to children that sometimes mums need a little rest.

###Montessori Activity

During Montessori time, we worked on Practical Life activities. The children pretended to change a doll’s nappy using a tray, and they also practised taking laundry off the string and folding it.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday:

In Italian, we learned some words such as mamma and ti amo (“I love you”).

Tuesday:

The children decorated a heart-shaped biscuit with sugar and sprinkles.

Wednesday:

At Forest School, we poured soil into the planter and then the children planted flowers. We hope to see them growing before summer.

Thursday:

During Computer Science time, we talked about different devices children can see at home and asked them to name them.

Friday (Drama & Music):

We had a puppet show with the story “The Lion and the Mouse.” The children joined in and acted out parts of the story.

Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 3

Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7 Dear Parents, This week, we celebrated Father’s Day with lots of love and creativity! The children worked on two special activities: • A Father’s Day card • A Super Dad bookmark We also began practicing for Sports Day —and let’s just say, getting everyone to follow instructions was a workout in itself! 😂 ⸻ Vocabulary Focus: This week, we introduced the words: flying , lying , sad , and grumpy Group Time Highlights: • We read Dogs Can Fly • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Worked with groups of objects • Learned a fun new numbers song ⸻ Montessori Activity: Our sensory experience this week was a sand pit activity. Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. We introduced important vocabulary such as: Butterfly, Cocoon, Chrysalis, Metamorphosis During group time, we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar , sang nursery rhymes, practiced counting from 1 to 10, and reviewed the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity this week focused on a practical life skill: washing toys . Here’s a quick look at what we did each day: • Monday – Italian We sang “Farfallina” and practiced our “Ciao Ciao” song. (Farfallina means “butterfly” in Italian.) • Tuesday – Cooking We made bread with rosemary or oregano.
