Newsletters Spring Term 2025 - Week 7

Dear Parents,

I hope you’re all doing well!

This week was our settling-in period, so we haven’t started following the curriculum yet. However, the children did a fantastic job adapting to the nursery routine.

Our theme for the week was “Colours”, and we explored white, green, red, blue, and yellow. The children created a beautiful heart-shaped colour collage and made sparkling flour using different colours.

We also had daily group time with storytelling and fun activities, including exercises with colour and animal cards.

Reminders & Important Dates:

• Thursday, 6th March – World Book Day: Children should dress up as their favourite book character and bring their favourite book.

• Monday, 23rd March – Puppet Show at Ciao Ciao.

Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 3

Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. The children especially enjoyed the activity of placing balls into the “ice cream.” 🌟 A Quick Look at Our Week Monday – In Italian, we continued practising the song Se sei felice e lo sai. Tuesday – During cooking, we baked pizzas! The children used delicious ingredients such as tomatoes, mozzarella, salt, basil, cheese, and olive oil. Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7

Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7 Dear Parents, This week, we celebrated Father’s Day with lots of love and creativity! The children worked on two special activities: • A Father’s Day card • A Super Dad bookmark We also began practicing for Sports Day —and let’s just say, getting everyone to follow instructions was a workout in itself! 😂 ⸻ Vocabulary Focus: This week, we introduced the words: flying , lying , sad , and grumpy Group Time Highlights: • We read Dogs Can Fly • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Worked with groups of objects • Learned a fun new numbers song ⸻ Montessori Activity: Our sensory experience this week was a sand pit activity. Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. We introduced important vocabulary such as: Butterfly, Cocoon, Chrysalis, Metamorphosis During group time, we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar , sang nursery rhymes, practiced counting from 1 to 10, and reviewed the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity this week focused on a practical life skill: washing toys . Here’s a quick look at what we did each day: • Monday – Italian We sang “Farfallina” and practiced our “Ciao Ciao” song. (Farfallina means “butterfly” in Italian.) • Tuesday – Cooking We made bread with rosemary or oregano. The children mixed flour, water, salt, yeast, and oil to make their dough, then chose their own herbs to flavor...
