 Ciao Ciao Newsletter Spring Term – Week 6

Dear Parents,

This week our theme was St. Valentine’s Day.


The children painted using heart stencils and made a beautiful heart-shaped pizza with a special message for their parents. They also explored heart line painting, developing their fine motor skills and creativity.

Reception children has started the red book for reception preparation.

Vocabulary Focus

This week we introduced and practised the following words:

St. Valentine’s Day, love, heart, friendship, relationships

Group Time Highlights

We watched a short video and talked about the story of St. Valentine.

We sang body songs such as “Bing”, “Small Heart”, and “In the World We Are Together.”

In Maths, children matched broken hearts by pairing numbers with the correct quantity of dots.

We introduced the letter V for Valentine.

We read a story called “The Mouse’s Valentine’s Day.”

Montessori Activities


Children carefully tracked heart outlines using Lego pieces.

They also enjoyed making necklaces, strengthening their fine motor and threading skills.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday

In Italian, we learned new words related to St. Valentine’s Day such as amore and cuoricino. We also sang an Italian song called “Cuoricini.”

Tuesday


We did not have our cooking session because the children enjoyed a special magician show at school. They were very enthusiastic and excited to see the tricks — especially the rabbit!

Wednesday – Forest School

The children made hearts using clay and decorated them by stamping flowers on top.

Thursday

Children practised Maths skills using the iPad.

Friday – Drama & Music

The children had a lesson on body percussion, exploring rhythm using different parts of their bodies.

Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7

  Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7 Dear Parents, This week, we celebrated  Father’s Day  with lots of love and creativity! The children worked on two special activities: • A  Father’s Day card • A  Super Dad bookmark We also began practicing for  Sports Day —and let’s just say, getting everyone to follow instructions was a workout in itself! 😂 ⸻ Vocabulary Focus: This week, we introduced the words: flying ,  lying ,  sad , and  grumpy Group Time Highlights: • We read  Dogs Can Fly • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Worked with groups of objects • Learned a fun new  numbers song ⸻ Montessori Activity: Our sensory experience this week was a  sand pit  activity. Newsletter Week 5

  Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is  butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. We introduced important vocabulary such as: Butterfly, Cocoon, Chrysalis, Metamorphosis During group time, we read  The Very Hungry Caterpillar , sang nursery rhymes, practiced counting from 1 to 10, and reviewed the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity this week focused on a practical life skill:  washing toys . Here’s a quick look at what we did each day: • Monday – Italian We sang “Farfallina” and practiced our “Ciao Ciao” song.  (Farfallina means “butterfly” in Italian.) • Tuesday – Cooking We made bread with rosemary or oregano.
