Ciao Ciao Newsletter – Spring Term, Week 4
Dear Parents,
Spring Term – Week 4
This week’s theme was Life Cycles.
The children explored this topic through hands-on learning and creative activities. They created two artworks: a yellow plant pot and a frog life cycle project
### Vocabulary Focus
This week, we introduced and explored the following words:
life cycle, growing, seeds, plants, tree, frog, eggs, tadpole, watering, digging
### Group Time Highlights
During group time, we:
- Looked at slides showing the life cycles of plants, humans, and frogs
- Sang “Five Little Speckled Frogs”
- Continued working on geometry in Maths by singing shape songs and encouraging children to guess different shapes
- Introduced the letter L for life cycle in Phonics
- Read the book “The Little Frog”
### Montessori Activity
Children worked with three life cycle puzzles (frog, plant, and butterfly), helping them develop concentration, sequencing skills, and an understanding of natural processes.
### A Quick Look at Our Week
Monday
Children attended a violin show. They were fascinated by the sound, listened with great attention, and interacted by touching and playing the violin at the end of the show.
In Italian, children learned the song “Per fare un fiore” and new words such as fuori, albero, and legno.
Tuesday
We cooked nachos with guacamole and pink sauce. The pink sauce was made by mixing mayonnaise and ketchup, and the guacamole by mashing avocado, tomatoes, lemon, salt, and garlic.
Wednesday
At Forest School, children planted lentils in cotton. We will keep them at school and observe their growth week by week. The process will be photographed regularly.
Thursday
During computer science time, children practiced using the interactive whiteboard.
Friday (Drama & Music)
Children acted out the book “I Don’t Want to Be a Frog.”
