 Ciao Ciao Newsletter Spring Term – Week 1

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Winter.

The children created two pieces of artwork: a winter owl and a snowflake tree.




Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

winter, hat, gloves, scarf, cold, and more.

Group Time Highlights

We sang a winter song

In maths, we worked on matching objects to numbers up to 5

We introduced the letter W for winter

We read the book “Winter”

Montessori Activity


The children worked with a sensory tray, using coarse salt and paintbrushes to create a snowman.

This activity helped support the development of fine motor skills and name recognition (Rory).

Tuesday

We cooked Italian lemon rice, using rice, lemon, oil, and Parmesan cheese

Wednesday

At Forest School, children made snow with Shabina using baking soda and shaving foam

Thursday

In Computer Science, children practiced using the mouse and began developing eye–hand coordination by working on faces and heads

Friday (Drama & Music)

In Drama, we read “The Snow Thief”

The children acted out the squirrel and the mouse

  Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is  butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. Ciao Ciao Newsletter: Summer Term, Week 3 Dear Parents, Our topic for the next two weeks will be  “Transport”! This week, the children painted two cardboard boxes to make a car and a van. On Friday, they had lots of fun playing inside them! They also made traffic lights and coloured in transport-themed drawings. We played a maths game with toy cars to help develop their numeracy skills. During group time, we read the story of  Poor Old Rabbit  to teach the importance of taking care of toys. We also sang nursery rhymes, talked about transports, and continued practicing numbers from 1 to 10, as well as the letters A, B, and C. Our  Montessori activity  for the week was opening and closing boxes and bottles—great for developing fine motor skills. Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 3

Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. The children especially enjoyed the activity of placing balls into the “ice cream.” 🌟 A Quick Look at Our Week Monday – In Italian, we continued practising the song Se sei felice e lo sai.
