Ciao Ciao Pre School-Autumn Term week 14

 Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Christmas, and this theme has been in use for two weeks. During the first week, we focused on Santa Claus, and in the second week we explored the

Nativity, helping the children understand the real reason why Christians celebrate Christmas: they belive is the day Jesus was born.

The children enjoyed a variety of art and craft activities, creating Christmas trees using different techniques, including stamping.

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

Christmas, Christianity, Nativity, Jesus, angel, stable, manger, and more.

—————

Group Time Highlights

We practised Christmas songs

The children counted from 1 to 20 and backwards from 20 to 1

We continued learning the letter C for Christmas

We read the book “Nativity”

—————

Montessori Activity

The children worked on a Montessori tray activity, pretending to prepare gingerbread biscuits. This activity helps children develop independence as they follow steps and complete a task on their own. It also strengthens fine motor skills through handling small tools and materials, which is important for writing and everyday tasks.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday:

In Italian, we practised words linked to the topic, such as Gesรน, angelo, capanna, bue e asinello.

Tuesday:

We did not have our cooking lesson as we enjoyed a lovely Christmas Show. The children performed in front of their parents, watched a special video we prepared for them, and welcomed a visit from Santa Claus, who brought them some presents. After parents left, we enjoyed a Christmas dinner followed by a fun party together.

Wednesday:

Instead of Forest School, we had a Drama lesson. We focused on the story “The Elves and the Shoemaker” to prepare for the show we were going to watch the following day. The children took turns acting as the shoemaker, his wife, and the customers.

Thursday:

We visited Longfield Hall Theatre to watch The Elves and the Shoemaker. The show was amazing, and we are very proud of our children. They were well behaved and listened attentively throughout the performance.
