Ciao Ciao Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 10

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Autumn!

The children had a wonderful time exploring all things related to the season. They enjoyed two art-and-craft activities where they created an autumn leaf painting and a leaf tree.

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

tree, autumn, leaves, acorns, chestnut, squirrel, pine cone, pine tree, etc.

Group Time Highlights

We continued singing and practising our Christmas songs.

We introduced a new “autumn leaves” song.

The children continued their number-recognition work from 1 to 10, using chestnuts as part of the activity.

We continued introducing the letter A for Autumn.

We read the book “1, 2, 3, What Can You See in Autumn?”

Montessori Activity

During Montessori time, the children coloured their own autumn tree, helping them develop fine motor skills.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday:

During Italian, we focused on new vocabulary linked to our topic: autunno, foglie, cadono (autumn, leaves, falling down).

Tuesday:

We prepared fruit sticks using strawberries, grapes, bananas, and melon. The children enjoyed eating them at school—some even ate them while they were still making them! 😂

Wednesday:

At Forest School, the children made a leaf-shaped clay plate and then painted it.

Thursday:

Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with the computer, we were unable to have our planned lesson.

Friday (Drama & Music):

In music, we practised using the bells. For drama, the children enjoyed a puppet show of The Three Little Pigs.
