Ciao Ciao Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 9

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Black History!

The children had a wonderful time exploring Black culture. They enjoyed two art and craft activities where they created a heart made of hands and a peace ☮️ symbol.

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

beautiful, skin, inclusion, equality

Group Time Highlights

• We have started learning our Christmas songs.

• The children continued practising how to recognise numbers from 1 to 10.

• We continued working with the letter B for Black History.

• We read two books: “The Colour of Us” and “All People Are Beautiful”.

Montessori Activity

During Montessori time, the children enjoyed a sensory tray activity. They played with dolls of different skin tones and explored diversity through play.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday:

In Italian, we focused on words such as Natale (Christmas), Buon Natale (Merry Christmas), campane (bells), and sentire (feelings).

Tuesday:

We baked seasoned potatoes—the children pulled apart and cut the boiled potatoes, then covered them with salt and seasoning. 🧂

Wednesday:

At Forest School, the children painted a heart on a wooden block.

Thursday:

We practised using the computer mouse for colouring activities, helping to develop hand–eye coordination.

Friday (Drama & Music):

We watched a video showing different African instruments. The children listened to the sounds, copied the rhythms, and later listened to a piece of African music featuring all the instruments. Their favourite was the djembe!

Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 3

Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. The children especially enjoyed the activity of placing balls into the “ice cream.” 🌟 A Quick Look at Our Week Monday – In Italian, we continued practising the song Se sei felice e lo sai. Tuesday – During cooking, we baked pizzas! The children used delicious ingredients such as tomatoes, mozzarella, salt, basil, cheese, and olive oil. Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7 Dear Parents, This week, we celebrated Father’s Day with lots of love and creativity! The children worked on two special activities: • A Father’s Day card • A Super Dad bookmark We also began practicing for Sports Day —and let’s just say, getting everyone to follow instructions was a workout in itself! 😂 ⸻ Vocabulary Focus: This week, we introduced the words: flying , lying , sad , and grumpy Group Time Highlights: • We read Dogs Can Fly • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Worked with groups of objects • Learned a fun new numbers song ⸻ Montessori Activity: Our sensory experience this week was a sand pit activity. Newsletter Summer Term – Week 11

Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 11 Dear Parents, This week’s topic was *Summer* The children created colourful ice lollies using paper and sticks, and they also made beautiful flower art paintings. Everyone took part in painting the stage backdrop for the show and decorating their show T-shirts — what a creative and productive week. *Vocabulary Focus* This week, we introduced the following words: Summer, hot, heat, flowers, bees, nectar, ice cream, ice lollies, sun, and more! *Group Time Highlights* • We read The Little Bees • Talked about summer and the changes it brings • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Explored shapes • Worked with groups of objects • Rehearsed a new ballet dance for the show *Montessori Activity* This week’s Montessori activity was the magnetic colour sorting board.
