Autumn Term – Week 8

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was *Bonfire*!

The children had a wonderful time exploring this exciting topic. They enjoyed two art and craft activities where they created beautiful firework drawings. We also watched a short video about bonfire safety and learned how to stay safe around fire.

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:

bonfire, light, night, fireworks, noise, safe, dangerous, and more.

*Group Time Highlights*

• Sang nursery rhymes

• Started recognising numbers from 1 to 10

*Montessori Activity*

During Montessori time, the children enjoyed a sensory tray activity. We drew a fire in the tray and then they used spray bottles to “put it out” — a fun way to explore the idea of fire safety through play!

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday:

In Italian, we introduced a new song Fra Martino, using bells as instruments.

Tuesday:

We baked bread — mixing flour, salt, water, oil, yeast,

and rosemary. The children loved this hands-on experience!

Wednesday:

At Forest School, the children collected leaves and sticks and pretended to build a bonfire together.

Thursday:

We practised writing on the whiteboard.

Friday (Drama & Music):

In music, we practised using bells, and during drama, we organised a puppet show featuring Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Newsletter Autumn Term – Week 3

Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. The children especially enjoyed the activity of placing balls into the “ice cream.” 🌟 A Quick Look at Our Week Monday – In Italian, we continued practising the song Se sei felice e lo sai. Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 7 Dear Parents, This week, we celebrated Father’s Day with lots of love and creativity! The children worked on two special activities: • A Father’s Day card • A Super Dad bookmark We also began practicing for Sports Day —and let’s just say, getting everyone to follow instructions was a workout in itself! 😂 ⸻ Vocabulary Focus: This week, we introduced the words: flying , lying , sad , and grumpy Group Time Highlights: • We read Dogs Can Fly • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Worked with groups of objects • Learned a fun new numbers song ⸻ Montessori Activity: Our sensory experience this week was a sand pit activity. Newsletter Summer Term – Week 11

Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 11 Dear Parents, This week’s topic was *Summer* The children created colourful ice lollies using paper and sticks, and they also made beautiful flower art paintings. Everyone took part in painting the stage backdrop for the show and decorating their show T-shirts — what a creative and productive week. *Vocabulary Focus* This week, we introduced the following words: Summer, hot, heat, flowers, bees, nectar, ice cream, ice lollies, sun, and more! *Group Time Highlights* • We read The Little Bees • Talked about summer and the changes it brings • Sang nursery rhymes • Practiced counting from 1 to 10 • Explored shapes • Worked with groups of objects • Rehearsed a new ballet dance for the show *Montessori Activity* This week’s Montessori activity was the magnetic colour sorting board.
