Ciao Ciao Newsletter - Autumn Term – Week 6
Dear Parents,
This week’s theme was Halloween in our sensory activities!
The children had a wonderful time painting pumpkins and making a spooky ghost craft.
Vocabulary Focus
This week, we introduced and explored the following words: Halloween, skeletons, dark, frightening, scared, bones, pumpkins, hammer, and more.
Group Time Highlights
* We read the book Funnybones
* Sang nursery rhymes
* Practised counting from 1 to 10
* Continued working on colour recognition
* Introduced the letter H for Halloween in phonics
Montessori Activity
During our Montessori time, we explored a sensory tray filled with pumpkins, hammers, autumn leaves, pine cones, and seeds. This helped the children develop their fine motor skills, concentration, and sensory awareness.

In Italian, we continued practicing Chiudi gli occhi and introduced a new song: Fra Martino.

In our cooking session, we prepared biscuits and decorated them with colourful food-safe paints.
Wednesday
During Forest School, the children planted spring onions and spinach in pots, which they proudly took home.
Thursday
For the first time, the children used a tablet to match shapes – a fun way to support their cognitive development.
