Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Halloween in our sensory activities!

The children had a wonderful time painting pumpkins and making a spooky ghost craft.


Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:
Halloween, skeletons, dark, frightening, scared, bones, pumpkins, hammer, and more.



Group Time Highlights

* We read the book Funnybones

* Sang nursery rhymes

* Practised counting from 1 to 10

* Continued working on colour recognition

* Introduced the letter H for Halloween in phonics


Montessori Activity

During our Montessori time, we explored a sensory tray filled with pumpkins, hammers, autumn leaves, pine cones, and seeds.
This helped the children develop their fine motor skills, concentration, and sensory awareness.


A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday


In Italian, we continued practicing Chiudi gli occhi and introduced a new song: Fra Martino.

Tuesday


In our cooking session, we prepared biscuits and decorated them with colourful food-safe paints.

Wednesday


During Forest School, the children planted spring onions and spinach in pots, which they proudly took home.


Thursday


For the first time, the children used a tablet to match shapes – a fun way to support their cognitive development.

Friday (Drama & Music)


We introduced some musical instruments that will be part of our Christmas Show. The children also enjoyed the “play and stop” movement game – they were all very excited!

Ciao Ciao Newsletter: Summer Term, Week 3 Dear Parents, Our topic for the next two weeks will be  “Transport”! This week, the children painted two cardboard boxes to make a car and a van. On Friday, they had lots of fun playing inside them! They also made traffic lights and coloured in transport-themed drawings. Newsletter Week 5

  Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is  butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. We introduced important vocabulary such as: Butterfly, Cocoon, Chrysalis, Metamorphosis During group time, we read  The Very Hungry Caterpillar , sang nursery rhymes, practiced counting from 1 to 10, and reviewed the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity this week focused on a practical life skill:  washing toys . Here’s a quick look at what we did each day: • Monday – Italian We sang “Farfallina” and practiced our “Ciao Ciao” song.  (Farfallina means “butterfly” in Italian.) • Tuesday – Cooking We made bread with rosemary or oregano. Dear Parents, This week’s theme was Family! The children drew their homes and created their very own family trees. 🌟 Vocabulary Focus This week, we introduced the following words: Mother, father, sister, brother, siblings, grandpa, grandma, and more. 🌟 Group Time Highlights • We read the book Family • Sang nursery rhymes • Practised counting from 1 to 10 • Continued practising colours 🌟 Montessori Activity This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These wonderful educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play.
