Summer Term – Week 12

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Party!

The children created colourful party decorations, which we used to celebrate during our party on Wednesday. It was a joyful and exciting event!

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced the following words:

Fun, happy, generous, sharing ideas, respecting opinions, fair, and more.

Group Time Highlights

We read Arthur’s Party

Sang nursery rhymes

Practised counting from 1 to 10

Explored shapes

Worked with groups of objects

Rehearsed for our performance

Montessori Activity

This week, we explored Montessori activity boards (also known as busy boards). These educational tools stimulate development through hands-on play. By manipulating zippers, buckles, buttons, latches, shapes, and textures, the children built fine motor skills, practiced sensory learning, and engaged in problem-solving — all while fostering independence and creativity. They loved exploring at their own pace!

A Quick Look at Our Week

(Please note: regular activities were paused this week to give space to our special events.)

Monday

Instead of our usual Italian lesson, we focused on rehearsals.

Tuesday

We had two performances, one at 9:30 and another at 2:30. Well done to all the children for their enthusiasm!

Wednesday

We tidied and decorated the room and garden in preparation for our 1:00 pm party, which was a big success — full of fun and celebration!

Thursday

The children helped us clean all the toys using sponges and water in the garden. They worked hard and cooperated beautifully. Well done!

Friday (Drama & Music)

We continued practising our songs and performance pieces for the upcoming show. The excitement is building!

Reminders & Important Dates

School resumes on Tuesday, 2nd September

Wishing you all a lovely and restful weekend!

Warm regards,

Linda
