Summer Term – Week 10

Dear Parents,

This week, we celebrated Sports Day with lots of exciting activities!

The children made flags and medals and took part in a tunnel game designed to develop their gross motor skills.

Vocabulary Focus:

This week, we introduced the following vocabulary:

Healthy food, junk food

Running, jumping, dribbling, sliding, etc.

Group Time Highlights:

We read Little Monkey

Talked about different sports

Sang nursery rhymes

Practiced counting from 1 to 10

Explored shapes

Worked with groups of objects

Practiced a new ballet dance for the show

Montessori Activity:

Our Montessori activity this week was sewing.

The children practiced “pretend sewing” using fun patterns and laces. They all completed their work with the help of the teachers.

A Quick Look at Our Week:

Monday – Italian:

We didn’t have our Italian lesson, as we were busy preparing for Sports Day.

Tuesday – Cooking:

No cooking this week as it was Sports Day!

A big thank you to all the parents who joined us for this wonderful and sunny day — we truly appreciate your support!

Wednesday – Forest School (Indoors):

Due to rain, we held our forest school activity indoors.

The children painted sweet wooden flowers.

Thursday – Computer Science:

We learned about the interactive whiteboard and how it works.

Friday – Drama & Music:

For Drama, we performed a small puppet show featuring a race between a cat, a snake, and some turtles.

The turtle was the slowest, but also the cleverest — and won the race using her brain!

For Music, we explored how the body can be used to make music through body percussion.
