Newsletter – Summer Term, Week 8

*Ciao Ciao Newsletter – Summer Term, Week 8*

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Geometry, explored with lots of love and creativity!

The children enjoyed two special activities:

Shape Stamps:

The children used plates with different colored paints to stamp a variety of shapes.

*Shapes Game:*

Using a box filled with different shapes, the children created their own shape patterns.

We also continued practicing for Sports Day—and the children are starting to follow instructions... well, most of the time!

*Vocabulary Focus*

This week, we introduced the words:

geometry, square, heart, circle, triangle, rectangle, star

*Group Time Highlights*

We read Baby Dino and introduced words such as:

baby, tummy, noisy, silence, gentle, care, please, thanks

Sang nursery rhymes

Practiced counting from 1 to 10

Worked with groups of objects

Practiced our performance song

*Montessori Activity*

Our sensory experience this week focused on matching shapes.

The children enjoyed playing with wooden blocks, matching each shape to its corresponding space. Shape games that involve creating patterns also support the development of pre-reading and logical thinking skills.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday – Italian:

We practiced the Italian Ciao Ciao song and learned the word bacio (kiss).

Tuesday – Cooking:

The children baked delicious chocolate cookies, mixing flour, eggs, cane sugar, baking soda, milk, and chocolate chips.

Wednesday – Forest School:

We explored the garden, collected tiny sticks, and used clay to make hedgehogs.

Thursday – Computer Science:

Back on the laptops! The children practiced using the mouse to improve hand-eye coordination with a fun puppet game.

Friday – Drama & Music:

We acted out the book Where Is My Teddy? with children pretending to be Eddie, expressing his emotions through body language and facial expressions.
