Newsletter Summer Term, week 2

*Summer Term – Week 2*

Dear Parents, 😊

Our topic for the week has been “*Science*”!

We’ve had a fantastic time enjoying the beautiful weather, with the children spending most of their days outside playing with water and sand.

In science, the children explored some exciting experiments with clay:

-They made a *volcano* out of clay and watched it erupt using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda!

-The children became *archaeologists* and discovered dinosaurs, creating their own fossils with clay!

During *group time*, we read the story “Grampy Frog”, sang nursery rhymes, learned the words linked with spring season, talked about insects, and continued practicing numbers from 1 to 10 with a fun game called “What’s the Missing Number?”.

Our *Montessori* activity this week was washing dishes, which the children enjoyed very much.

Here s a little overview of our week:

*Monday*: In our Italian lesson, we learned the sentence “Come stai?” (How are you?) and different answers: “Bene 👍” (Good), “Male 👎” (Bad), and “Così così 🫳” (So-so). ⭐️

*Tuesday*: The children prepared their own sandwiches, choosing from a variety of ingredients like cheese, ham, salami, salad, tomatoes, butter, and mayo.

*Wednesday*: At Forest School, we explored the reception garden looking for minibeasts. We found ants, slugs, snails, spiders, and worms! We taught the children not to harm them, to respect nature, and not to be afraid of insects. We explained how important these tiny creatures are to our ecosystem.

*Thursday*: During our Computer Science session, we practiced using the mouse. 🖥️

*Friday*: In Drama class, the children acted out all the animals they might find in a forest and sang “Walking in the Jungle”. 🤩

Wishing you all a lovely weekend! 🌞
