Newsletter Spring Term 2025 - Week 12

This week’s theme was “Eid Mubarak.”

The children made lanterns and moons to celebrate.

During group time, we read the book “Daddy Pig Lost His Keys,” sang rhyming songs, and continued our exercises with numbers 1 to 10. Our Montessori activity this week was cutting.

On Monday, for our Italian lesson, the children practiced an Italian song. ⭐️

On Tuesday, for cooking, we made moon biscuits. 🌙

On Wednesday, we organized an Easter Egg Hunt. The children were very excited to collect chocolate eggs and find the bunny! Afterward, they counted all the eggs they had collected and divided them into baskets. 🐰

On Thursday, during computer science, we practiced using the mouse by making a marmalade tart. We are still working on using eye movements to control the mouse. 🖥️

On Friday, for Drama, we worked on recognizing and coping with facial expressions. The children had lots of fun! 🤩

We will be returning to school on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Ciao Ciao Newsletter Summer Term – Week 5 Dear Parents, Our topic for the week is butterflies . This week, we focused on the butterfly life cycle. The children painted paper butterflies, made caterpillars out of egg boxes, and decorated butterfly stencils. We also watched a BBC video about metamorphosis. We introduced important vocabulary such as: Butterfly, Cocoon, Chrysalis, Metamorphosis During group time, we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar , sang nursery rhymes, practiced counting from 1 to 10, and reviewed the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity this week focused on a practical life skill: washing toys . Here’s a quick look at what we did each day: • Monday – Italian We sang “Farfallina” and practiced our “Ciao Ciao” song. (Farfallina means “butterfly” in Italian.) • Tuesday – Cooking We made bread with rosemary or oregano. The children mixed flour, water, salt, yeast, and oil to make their dough, then chose their own herbs to flavor...

Ciao Ciao Newsletter: Summer Term, Week 3 Dear Parents, Our topic for the next two weeks will be “Transport”! This week, the children painted two cardboard boxes to make a car and a van. On Friday, they had lots of fun playing inside them! They also made traffic lights and coloured in transport-themed drawings. We played a maths game with toy cars to help develop their numeracy skills. During group time, we read the story of Poor Old Rabbit to teach the importance of taking care of toys. We also sang nursery rhymes, talked about transports, and continued practicing numbers from 1 to 10, as well as the letters A, B, and C. Our Montessori activity for the week was opening and closing boxes and bottles—great for developing fine motor skills. *Summer Term – Week 2* Dear Parents, 😊 Our topic for the week has been “* Science *”! We’ve had a fantastic time enjoying the beautiful weather, with the children spending most of their days outside playing with water and sand. In science, the children explored some exciting experiments with clay: -They made a * volcano * out of clay and watched it erupt using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda! -The children became * archaeologists * and discovered dinosaurs, creating their own fossils with clay!
