- Autumn Term – Week 6

Dear Parents,

This week’s theme was Halloween in our sensory activities!

The children had a wonderful time painting pumpkins and making a spooky ghost craft.

Vocabulary Focus

This week, we introduced and explored the following words:
Halloween, skeletons, dark, frightening, scared, bones, pumpkins, hammer, and more.

Group Time Highlights

* We read the book Funnybones

* Sang nursery rhymes

* Practised counting from 1 to 10

* Continued working on colour recognition

* Introduced the letter H for Halloween in phonics

Montessori Activity

During our Montessori time, we explored a sensory tray filled with pumpkins, hammers, autumn leaves, pine cones, and seeds.
This helped the children develop their fine motor skills, concentration, and sensory awareness.

A Quick Look at Our Week

Monday

In Italian, we continued practicing Chiudi gli occhi and introduced a new song: Fra Martino.

Tuesday

In our cooking session, we prepared biscuits and decorated them with colourful food-safe paints.

Wednesday

During Forest School, the children planted spring onions and spinach in pots, which they proudly took home.

Thursday

For the first time, the children used a tablet to match shapes – a fun way to support their cognitive development.

Friday (Drama & Music)

We introduced some musical instruments that will be part of our Christmas Show. The children also enjoyed the “play and stop” movement game – they were all very excited!
